I can't describe how beautiful that fish is! I love it! I can't get over it! It has such nice blues and reds!

Yeah it is a beautiful fish. I love mine. He goes crazy when ever I walk in my sons room. Like a puppy when you first walk in the door. If you really want one make sure its a pure hrp . Many people cross them with convicts. Best way to tell if its pure is the fewer bars and heavy blues and reds. if it was crossed with a convict it will have more bars. A convicts has 9 bars a hrp has just 4 or 5 bars and heavier blues and reds in its entire body.

you can see it in the face as well..cons have more of a pointy up turned face while the HRPs have a rounder down turned face/head. They are also allot more docile than cons
I believe my male con is a conxhrp.
There's no conclusive way to tell the provenance or purity of these fish visually.
There are now 4 different species of "convicts" (Amatitlania or Cryptoheros)...and some undescribed ones like HRP from Rio Danli.
I keep and breed about 10 different varieties (species / locations) of them. Each is different and housed in a different tank to ensure that they don't mix.
It's best to assume that "convicts" without provenance are not pure. Same with red devils/midas and so many other fish.
