How to transfer 13" arowana into a bigger tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I've been successful in transfering him to my 100 gal, though there were some major mistakes because he jumped off the plastic bag and landed straight on the ground, but I manage to put him and added 4 cups of salt in the tank then after 2 hours on the bottom of the tank, he is now fine and swimming well though there are some damages on him so, I'll keep an eye on him tonight.

I guess I have to learn from it, I was lack of proper things so I did what I can to transfer him.

the plastic bag method is the best for moving large aros

drop the water level down low then get a metal coat hanger in a ring place the plastic bag around the ring make the aro swim throw the ring into the bag

this is the least stressful way to catch a large aro

I'm already done transfering him into the bigger tank. I'm just wondering how many days should I wait before he eats again.

If no harm was done, he'll eat when he's hungry. Just takes some time for him to get acclimated to the tank and his surroundings.
