How to transfer a big stingray?? NEED HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
pm pat at amazon stingrays. he has a big net that is very shallow. it works great for his huge 24" rays....

is know one listening to me.?I said its very very easy to remove the ray with a huge bag(i think mine is 36 inches)and then place the rays in a rubber maid big enough and carry out.It does not matter if the ray punctures the bag,its just to take him out,no need to cut barbs.

I don't know how you did that with a large ray.. there's no way I'd ever catch a ray over 20" with a plastic bag.. heck I wouldn't catch my 15" with bag.. with a ray that doesn't want to be touched flying around I don't exactly want my hands fishing him into bag while he's creating a ruckus.

IMO get a xlarge koi net.. I've even used a large sportsman net if you can find one shallow with soft webbing. Then as everyone agreed on put him in a rubbermaid tub. As kevaldo said any further recommendations depends on how far of a journey your sending him on.

I collected a 22" mantilla a few week's ago and put it in a huge poly box, it was fine for 3 hours.

How long is the jorney?? Will the jorney be by road?

3hr no problem??? then thats cool...mine is less than an hour....jus dat the packing period might be longer....because im getting four 24" rays and seven 12" rays......need time.....and hopefully all are going to be good....

shark glove???.....hahaha.....i will get an eagle glove since my place dun hav shark, its hard to get a shark glove

use a net that is smaller than the ray

make the ray go head 1st into the net with its tail out of the net so it doent catch in the net then grab the rays tail wearing thick garden gloves then lisft the ray out

this way is very easy with 2 people :D
