Looking to buy a used 75+ gallon fish tank, but my wife and I have sub-compacts for cars and no friends nearby with a car/truck large enough to move larger tanks. What have you guys done in the past to get around this?

I've always had either a CR-V or friends, however, if the person wouldn't deliver it, I'd have to rent a vehicle that could hold it. Most mid-sized minivans with a rear door and a fold down middle seat would probably work.

Rental trucks and trailers I would skip because I don't trust the shocks or turns.

If you had other chores (like getting stones for the garden, buying a few chairs or taking an old pre-LED TV to the recycler), you could get a day's use out of it.

A 75 will easily fit in a SUV or CRV like Drstrangelove Drstrangelove stated no need for a trailer.

Remove or fold down the back seat and push the front seat forward. My father picked up a 90g for me in his Saturn SW1 no problem. A 55g can be put on a bench seat - I have done that. You might be able to do it with a 75 or a 90. They're just 4ft tanks, your car's interior should be wider than the tank is long.
