I suspect that there are many literal fishkeepers out there that still keep fish in fishbowls. So if you had to keep a fishbowl how would you do it? What species would you choose and how would you set it up?

Well first off I would hire someone to make me a custom 180 gallon fish bowl.....
Just for anyone thinking about doing it, don’t try looking up the worlds largest fishbowl. You won’t get it, you’ll just get the largest fish tanks and whatnot 
It was years ago and I don't think I can find the article but someone had a giant saltwater bowl it was at least 100 gallons. But when sunlight hit the bowl it would focus the light and burn the opposite wall so they ended up having to cover all of their windows in the room.

Hmmm, goldfish bowl. Possibly the most unfortunate coming together of two words, ever. How ridiculous does bala shark bowl sound or clown loach bowl or pleco bowl. You would never in a million years keep these fish in bowls yet it's common to keep goldfish in them, a fish which has the potential to get bigger than any of the three examples I give!!! They are the work of the devil.
Possibly, in a 2.5 gallon bowl, which has a small sponge filter and heater one of the following stock choices:
male betta
OR
dwarf shrimp colony
OR
pair of guppies
male betta
OR
dwarf shrimp colony

pair of guppies
