How Would You Keep A Fishbowl?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I’d do a planted bowl with shrimp. I still feel a filter and/or bubbler would be a must.
I don’t really see the draw to keeping a bowl over a small tank though. I’d really like a 2.5 - 5g tank for my kitchen counter. I really want to try keeping shrimp.
Bowls just distorted what you are looking at and that’s frustrating to me. Lol

oscar fish bowl. thats one for the books. lol

petsmart sells small 5gal? square tanks that are cool. The "edgeless" tanks are neat too. Wouldnt put much in them aside from a few small tetras. a little heater and a HOB filter and your set.

i had a small 5gal i used as a nightlight for my son when he was really young. i had a jager heater and an external canister filter (sunsun). One decoration. nice and neat, simple, cheap, and easy to clean.

ill try and get a picture later.

Put a Marimo Moss ball with some plastic eyes and feet attached to it in there with some pretty sand and some drift wood and call it a day. Bowls are for soup, not fish.

Plants and snails by the window no heater, no filter. I do it with jars and it works great. One day I may try an opae ullae setup.
