ok so 6 months ago my tiger oscar died:cry:. and he has been in a deep freeze ever since:naughty:. so now the question is how wrong is it to mount his body? and if it would be cool, how should i mount him? a full body, just the skins, or a skeleton? i can also do a head mount with the mouth open? i can post pix of my other preserves if needed.:D i just dont wanna get rid of him, he grew from a 1 inch baby to a 5 or 6.5 inch monster in 3 months.

Rather disgusting, but good luck. Its not an easy process, and the chemicals arnt the easiest to acuire. IMO a 1/4 grown oscar isnt worth it.

oh i know how to preserve a fish with nothing but sun and salt, it took over 6 years to "master". i can show ya some of my best preserves if needed, we recently got rid of most of them so i only kept 2, i had like 8.

I have to agree with FishingOut on this one. That's a pretty small oscar in comparison to a full sized one. I mean if this fish was special to you and you would like to honor that memory by mounting him, you should do just that. I just don't think that I would ever do that for a fish that I only had for a few months that never reached mature size and age. You could probably grow out another one cheaper than mounting your deceased one. My father-in-law is going to mount his Pacu. But he has had this thing for over 12 years.

Maybe stuffed with crab meat some garlic and oil over a bed of linguini.

Why would it be wrong? Would it be bad to mount my favorite pair of shoes on the wall after I outgrew them?

Also the emoticons are a bit out of control.

do it i'll post a pic of a squirrel in my room i did...

just a question... so you started preserving fish when you were 7 yrs old?
haha you beat me to it. but :iagree:
we really need an age limit....
