How your local fish shops doing nowadays?

No local fish stores anymore. All closed. Phoenix is about 2 hours away and it has become a salt town. About 3-1 ratio of saltwater to freshwater. Couple nice freshwater stores closed in Phoenix in the last two years.

Spoke with a friend who has a fish store in Phoenix (salt, fresh, reptiles) and he can no longer get dry goods. He has to go directly to manufacturers now for dry goods. Kind of sad. He is doing ok, but always on the cusp.

This pretty sad but 2 hours drive is not too bad, treat is like a field trip on weekend :p
The bad part of long way drive is when you arrived to the store and they didn't have what you want, even you called them earlier and they are confirmed that they have it instock....

BUT I don't want to pass up anything that not showing in store for years regardless the fish quality. The store owner that I picked up my fish, he's quite a picky one and he doesn't buy unhealthy fish and he's only store that actually have 2x 55G tanks use as QT new arrivals. I knew his schedule of fesh/saltwater shipment and I visit his store on that day and I just pick the species right off the wholesale and paid him some commission fee :) If I don't have a tank ready yet he willing to hold the fish for me up to a month.

I have 2 chain stores near me that I buy dry goods from and plants. 50mins away is my favorite fish store. They carry a wide range of fresh and salt. That's where I buy most of my stock. They seem to be doing good. Every time I go there, it's always packed. There are a few other fish stores close to my favorite store but the prices are way too high and I hate the owner and customer service so I stopped supporting them.

Lovin the crest,I got a sketch of both my family crest and my personal emblem I might post later
 
800's my family ruled yours :P also descended from balliol and bruce. then english and scottish royalty. sadly family lost all the crowns a long time ago then fled to the new world on the mayflower. For some of my moms sociology and anthropology degree work she compiled the family tree and history its about 10" thick binder.
