The only bichir breeding article I could remember was done with the ornate bichir. I can't remember the name of this Japanese gentleman, but he was successful in breeding the ornates. I remember reading a pH of 6.0, driftwood in the tank. The eggs easily got fungus, but a few eggs survive. That is what I remember the most. I tried to do it in a 60 gallon, but I believe the breeding was done in a 125 gallon tank. Also, I think the water temp was around 82 degrees. If someone remembers this article from TFH, then maybe they could add the link, and also give credit to the person who actually accomplished the breeding.
Edit: I was not successful in breeding the ornates back then.
