How?

Fish shouldnt just die on you like that, make sure there is plenty of oxygen and a cycled tank. You can't just add a fish to a tank right away because the shock of new water will most likely kill them, you have to add water to the bucket the fish are in so they get used to the water, i add a cup of water every 10minutes for an hour until i feel the fish is ready, i've never had one die in transit. I kept a black crappie and 3 sunfish alive in a 5gallon bucket for 3 days while moving once they were perfectly fine, i travelled with a air pump and constantly added and removed water.

i cycled it a whole week. only 3 small brim.

A week is nothing for a cycle, done properly it should take about 6 weeks. How are you cycling? Simply adding a filter to an empty tank doesn't accomplish anything, you need to make sure there is an ammonia source. Also, the only way to know a tank is finished cycling is to test the water, should have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and measurable nitrate. And note, 0 does not mean 1 is ok, 0 means 0.

So take a few measurements of your water, and let us know what they are, and we can help.

You come here looking for help yet provide the least bit of information humanly possible. Gee, thanks!

Hey guys, my car stopped running, what could it possibly be?

These guys are trying to help you and you're tossing them crumbs. What gives?

Water temp?
PH?
Filter?
Sunlight?

You cycled 3 weeks... HOW?

You say "similar to cichlids in a 30 gal @ my pals house he says everything works they just kinda die"

What does that even mean? Everything works? You either want help or you don't. Stop being immature and killing animals because you're ignorant.

Yes, I'm a d1ck.

i don't know why people insist on being so rude....

Though I do agree that JD was kinda rude, he does have a point. If you could give us more detailed info about your tank such as the ones he suggested we might be able to pinpoint the problem better. When you say they just die, do they die in minutes? Hours? or Days?

im tossing crumbs b/c honestly i finally got them to not die by taking advice on other sites. I fgured these guys are boring so i sold them to a guy having a fish fry and put in tropicals.

oh and one more thing. I kill bluegills for food anyway so it's not immature cuz when they died i just ate them so not a waste. Bluegills are better for eating than keeping in tanks.

yeah, and that water conditioner makes them taste so much better.

edit: wait, did you just say you don't know how the fish died, but you ate them anyway? Sounds incredibly stupid and a good way to get yourself in the hospital. How do you know it isn't a parasite killing them?

I'm with JD...
We really do need details. Hooking a fish, throwing in a bucket for a few hours then throwing it into a tank full of tap water is going to cut it. So yes, we need details. And even after asked these questions, the OP has not answered any of them... I suggest this OP answer questions if he wants his questions answered, or this thread be locked before it spirals out of control.
3 eating-sized bluegills would not last long in a 30 gallon tank regardless.
