My house is kinda old and I am worried about weight of wet soil per square foot?

Use a reptile-safe wood-based substrate such as cypress bark; it doesn't weigh quite as much per cubic foot as wet soil.
After doing more research I've decided to have a big tank for a blue tongued skink instead of a small tank for a tegu/savannah. I think overall this is a better choice.

Is anyone familiar with the Hamburg Reptile Show's vendors. Is there anything I should avoid in particular or just use common sense?

Just use common sense, and you should be fine. There are a few people on there who should be able to chime in on specific vendors to seek out or avoid.
Probably a good choice, if there's any questioning about if a monitor or tegu is the best choice, the answer is no. LOL
No question is a wrong question, and as long as you use common sense you should be good to go.
