Actually I just put it in there because it got way to big for the tank it was in and I didn't want to trim it down. Hopefully it will make it for a while. The fish don't seem to touch it yet.

Looks great; it's amazing how much even a single potted plant adds to a tank. Keeping them potted like that helps them survive, rather than just planting in substrate and letting them get dug up by the cichlids. Good luck, I hope it works out.
