Hows this look?

Hows this set up look? I have the 29 gallon filter to get the mid to high level mess and then the pump pushes other mess from the lower level into the sponge filter. And obviously the heater is the heater

Going back to the first post... and avoiding the comments about a brand new (uncycled?) tank that you are adding sand and fish to in the same day... I have another concern.

Does your tank span two pieces of furniture, as it appears in the picture? and did you use something along the lines of playing cards to make up the difference under the front right corner because the tank was wobbling? I have had some tanks in some sketchy places in my years, but that would keep me up at night... and you are luck for every week that passes without the tank failing. At the very least, you need to put a piece of plywood under the tank... Just trying to be helpful, not sure how nobody else mentioned this...

That's actually exactly right. Before I started my attempt at cycling the tank I had water in the tank for a while., it isn't slanted at all with a digital scale. The card were to even it out that extra.4 degrees. I had my college math teacher do some physics on it and he said that the weight and distance of gap was no problem mathematically which was the only reason I did it in the first place.

Well, I hope your college math teacher is available to do some physics on your carpet if the tank ever does fail... I certainly do not wish that upon you, but I think that if you stay in this hobby long enough, set up enough tanks, talk to enough people, and hear enough horror stories, you will eventually look back at this placement and wonder wtf you were thinking... there has to be a better solution than spanning a gap and making up "4 degrees" measured on a "digital scale" with playing cards... I really do wonder what physics your college math teacher could possibly apply to this problem in order to justify this, did he/she account for the amount of torque a pain of glass can withstand when twisted?

I'm not saying I did everything correct, I am new to the hobby. I'm just hoping I'm correct for my bichirs sake and not having a huge mess

I am not trying to say that I know everything, either... I am just saying that I know there is reason for concern when looking at your setup, and a sheet of plywood from Lowes is all the insurance you need. They sell quarter sheets, 24"x48" for < $15 and will cut it to the dimensions you need (30"x12" plus whatever extra you want, I wood give about 1/2" overhang on all sides).

Can you show me a picture? I don't understand the last part. Would be greatly appreciated. And I'm sorry if it sounds like I was attacking you or anything cause I'm not like that. Just trying to learn more every day

I think I recall that this was a 20 gallon long, correct? If so, the footprint measurement should be approximately 30" x 12", so just have them cut the plywood to 31" x 13" if you want it to fit closely, or increase the measurements if you want the plywood to have a wider boarder that sticks out under the tank. I dont have a tank on plywood to send you a picture of...
