I know there are other threads out right now but I just found my female in the pot. I would like to know what yall think about the likely hood that mine are hybrids? The first picture was taken a while back. There color has changed quite abit since the eggs appeared.

he looks abit skinny and he eyes are near to the top of his head than others, i would say your female is a hrp not sure about the male tho we need more pics
 
The female is in the pot. Pic one is the male. I think some of you guys have it reversed.

There are different HRP in the hobby. It has been stated that the different fish in each major river system look different, so without knowing the lineage of your fish, you'll never truly know. Cryptoheros species will interbreed in an aquarium but I don't believe they are known to interbreed in the wild.

Raise some fry and see if they look the same, or if they have different body traits and color.
