So my Honduran Redpoints had laid some eggs a week ago in a different location than last time. They started getting really nippy towards the other fish after the eggs hatched so i put up a divider. Of course a day after I put up the divider my other pair is claiming some territory to lay some eggs as well. For some reason the two pairs look nothing alike. One pair looks more like regular cons. Just thought id share.

Dominant Pair (look closely inside cave and you will see large grayish/black swarm, thats the wigglers.)

Lastly a pic of some of the fry I siphoned out to raise separate from Dominant Pair.

Surprisingly alot still left with the parents.

From the pics I'd say your dominant pair are just regular convicts, I can't see any HRP traits in them. Your second pair do have some HRP traits (especially the female). There's a few 'races' of HRP cropping up now but I'd be suspect of that first pair, it would also explain the frequency of breeding as HRP are not quite as prolific as regular cons.

They have changed alot since i got them. The dominant pair that look more like regular convicts didnt always look like that, the male used to have more red than the second male pictured above. This pic was taken two days after I got them, the dominant pair are both to the left, while the other pair is to the right.
Sorry about crappy pic. This was taken February second.

Sure enough the second pair laid eggs today, the male darkened up alot compared to yesterday and has many vertical stripes which he has never shown. Of course they laid them in a spot where i cant even see them, but i know they are there cuz my female has her tube out and is alot skinnier.

Well I went away for the weekend and no clue what happened with pair two's eggs, pair one had some fry left but they only lasted a day, luckily i took 75% of them a day or so after they hatched and they seem to be doing well. My two males have once again changed colors, Male 1 has some deep red fins, where male two is darker and starting to look more robust. Ill try and post some pics.
