HRP's at it again!!

Thanks for the info David. you have a beautiful HRP there. I agree now about the color of the bellies as my females dont always display color on them.

Jaws, do you know where your HRP's came from, or did you pick them up at your lfs. Dont be offended or anything but if you dont mind me asking how long have you been in the fish hobby? I looked up a bunch of old threads and you had some crazy stocks going on.
 
no its been like 5 years and i know i had so problems with impulse buying.... ive gottin better at this.

So, do hrp females have an orange belly?.. maybe only to some? I got some hrps from rapps, but im having a hard time sexing. I do have one with an orange belly, but it doesn't show much. I've heard that females have a black spot on the dorsal, but I don't know if thats true or not.

No females dont have orange on their stomach, i have seen males with orange on the stomach tho.
i hadn't herd of sexing them dot on the dorsal fin but looking at my 3 HRP females which are growing out for my male, they all have dots(eyes) just before the caudal fin. it could fade when mature,but i know i have 3 juvie females and 1 mature male.

im telling you my female has orange one her and ill get a pic to prove it.
 
Females can have orange on their bellies. One of mine has a slight hint of orange while the other has more of a dark yellow to her belly. Neither of my males have orange bellies. David do you have any pics of yours?
 
that you bluekiller. my female has intense blue coloring and a deep orange stomach

its a proven fact that males WILL sometimes get orange on there stumach
