well, my HRP pair in my 40 gallon breeder are killing everyone. i had two other juvinile females that they shredded yesterday. and they are now going after the platies that are also in there. so im considering getting something that could handle their crap. i was thinking tiger barbs. anyone else have any suggestions?

Really, I've never heard anyone describe tiger barbs as fragile? Everyone always
Complains how nasty they are. Any other opinions

the HRPs if a pair and full grown might be all you can put in that tank especially since they breed so often.

If you decide to do the Tiger barbs, let me know how that works out, because I was interested in using them as dithers for some of my fish as well...

Yeah I got some tiger barbs today 6 of them. So far so good. If it works I'll post back here. If not I'm considering ditching the HRPs

I have a pair in my 225 gallon tank and I have a shoal of columbian tetras and some blackskirts that all my fish leave well alone. the HRP's are very very peaceful and only get a little nasty when breeding. It might be that you need to either pick other less aggressive cichlid species, or fast shoaling fish.

ba tetras might work

Honduran red points. I resacaped the tank with more swimming room for the barbs and a more secure breeding area for the hrps. So, I'll just wait and see now
