I've never heard of tiger barbs as being fragile, IME they're quite boisterous and tough. I think they'd be good dithers. You could also try buenos aires tetras, I've had luck with red eye tetras too.

well, my HRP pair in my 40 gallon breeder are killing everyone. i had two other juvinile females that they shredded yesterday. and they are now going after the platies that are also in there. so im considering getting something that could handle their crap. i was thinking tiger barbs. anyone else have any suggestions?

I think a rhom will do just fine ;)
