Most of the 'larger' animal 'rights' groups are off their rockers. Many don't understand proper animal care, and are confusing human emotion with science and biological facts. Most also lack any type of real animal / biological education or instruction. Sadly, the work they put into drawing attention to themselves would be much better spent actually helping animals they claim to care about.
I work with many groups who struggle to pay the bills while actually saving animals...and here goes a HUGE chuck of money blown on nothing at all to save animals. Imagine what kind of rescue program could be funded with a single payment of $25 MILLION!
