But really I would just keep it clean and treat at home unless it gets bad.

Like Yargnits said my main concern would be if a small fragment had broken off. This could lead to bigger problems. One individual I know had this happen and was not a fun time. Hope everything goes o.k.

Yep, on an aged barb there will be no toxin.
Treat it as a puncture wound with possible fragments left embedded.
