ah phil, it was ultimately with your advise(and solomons') that i've succesfully raised so many of these critters. i bought this guy at this size though. i don't yet have a grow out for fishes between 12-18"..and they usually get shredded up pretty badly or killed if added right into the main tank.
 
Nice! Very jealous, definitely a 'someday' fish for me. Thanks for sharing the pics, don't see enough of these IMO.
 
thanks man you should seriously fly over here they're all over the place.(okay exaggerating much, but the lfs i got em from has 2 more for sale:P) many of the fishes you have are 'someday' fishes to me too, maybe we can trade:D
 
Ey Xander, the fish on the first page is not the same as on the second page, is it?
The one on the first page looks so very big to me.
Even bigger as Oddball's.

Is it really the same fish?

haha yeah, hopefully it won't. main reason i paid premium price for it was so i'd be able to skip 12-16"...and have a defect-free fish
