Huge dilemma.......

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Then again he can go in the 90g (albeit unhappily) if you take your friend's suggestion.

I coulda realized that in the first place if I was more observant today :screwy:

So upon further thought I'd say try that (again - if you don't think your GG will mess with your rays), then you'll have a backup plan if your jar becomes aggressive.

Keep the ideas coming! I love it: 300g rubbermaid is in the near future, but not near enough to count on.
I'm going to sleep well knowing that I'll wake up to plenty of good MFK'n ideas......
Thanks so far and thanks in advance:)

Yup, pond solves everything, there you go, lol.

Seriously though, that's what worries me is you don't seem to have anywhere for the jar if something suddenly happens.

If you put the Jar in that tank, it can't really go in another, so any problems would have to be rectified by moving other fish to another tank.

I like your moving the pim idea. Anything to keep that tig away from that jardini til you see how the jardini is. Tig's are ridicously hard to find right now.

Taking a page from Ewurm's post.. If it don't work move everything small but the ray out of the 300g and into the 90g... At least temporarily if you see the jar's a nutcase til you can find him a new home.

A friend of mine suggest swapping the pim and the tig, moving the small fish from the 300 to the 110 and putting the GG in the 300 with the Jar.........This would leave the ray, GG, pim, and jar together in the 300.

thoughts?

yeah man sounds like a good idea!

I think the Tig would be fine in my 265. The fish in there are pretty laid back and never really mess with any new fish. They usually don't even notice that the catfish are in the tank

Get another tank?

Or get that 1000 gallon in the works!

I would get another tank, but I'm out of space. I'm starting on the garage re-model tonight, but it's going to take a while.

From all the posts i have read about the jar i think in reality that the only safe route would be the jar by himself.. they are just totally unpredictable ..they could even be fine for so many months and then wreck havoc.. i personally mix alot of fish that everyone would be against like a Red devil and an Oscar and african cichlid.. they are all buddies ..but the jar is known to be a killer.. so i would not want to risk that one..just want to add that is awesome that your getting him..so worth all the stress.. lol has he been eating live or just pellets etc.?

I'm hoping I can make it work. I might just have to go for it and provide a ton of hiding and plant cover.

He's actually eating shrimp.....he's a bruiser. Thickest jar I've ever seen:)
