HUGE DRIFTWOOF FROM THE LFS

Nice wood man.
Aside from a few pieces I got tradeing crayfish to a LFS I scavenge all of mine in the spring. We have a big damn and resivoir not far from my house with off shoots people fish in that get realy high up during the thaw so when the water goes down I just go pick up the wood it leaves.

I got a really nice piece from there as well last week. It's Malaysian driftwood at least that's how they advertise it.

I go back and forth about how I feel about HoT. I've purchased fish from there as recently as last week and while they're stock is generally healthy and they do get some interesting and less common stuff, they price a few things into the stratosphere for no particular reason. They have that huge jardine that's been stuck in that little 90 or 120 for a few months priced as high as a grand and now down to $800. The worst part is I sat and listened to an employee there boast to a guy asking about the fish, saying that the only reason they had it was because a guy paid half up front to order it and they never heard back. The man he told said ok I'll pay the other half I have $500 right here and they said no. Just rubbed me wrong. I've seen numerous fish priced at 5-10x retail value while others are more in the normal range. The thing is, if they would stop being so ridiculous with the big ticket items they wouldn't sit in the store for so damn long and they could turn over interesting stock much faster. The reason I go all the time? Where else is there?

Yea no place is perfect and its easy to find something wrong if that's what one chooses. They have Dorado that were cheaper than online vendors 5-6 inch dovii for $24 but they also have Nile perch higher than I've seen anywhere. But they have ever food you need,to water driftwood large tanks. The actually feed the fish which a few of the other stores Dont do at all unless they consider a fish special. They treat fish if they become sick which a few others don't do unless they consider fish special. Talk about over priced how about $1500 for a hunch back flowerhorn that barely eats. One thing I learned in the game is as long as a store has cheap fish people will come regardless of how the fish are cared for. Wich is cool just burns me up when people say these places are the best.

I feed live and frozen foods only they have live blackworms,live brine shrimp, live ghost shrimp,crayfish, guppies $8 for 100,small goldfish $8 for 100 ,large goldfish 10 for $1 and huge pond comets 2 for $ so they have the things I need. Also some of my favorite fish I own came from there my swamp eel was $15 and he's of my favorites. I have never got sick fish from there. My black wolf came from another store that everyone loves had to buy lots of medicine when I got him too lol. I couldn't get a 1 foot piece of driftwood for the price I just paid for a 3 foot piece. This store has hundreds of tanks and I watch people walk right pass tanks with gems in them all the time. I was just posting a very nice piece of wood I got for a very good price, but this is MFK so I should have know that it would turn into a I don't like this store or I like this store better. The thing that gets me is 9 times out of 10 the people who don't like one of the best kept stores that has everything you need for your hobby, all seem to love one of the dirtiest stores that we have around because SOME things are cheaper.
