Yeah he looks really bad, all the fish were picking at him. He looks really big but I don't think he's 2 feet, he looked about 20 to me (but maybe its because he looked really unhealthy) but he sure is huge. he's in one 4000 gallon tank with breeding dovii, red devils, and midas (and some other misc. cichlids).

The owner thinks he's over 12 years old. But he told me that, "He isn't long for this world." And he hasn't eaten in a month. He is pretty epic though.

Cabella's also had a big tank with some sport fish in it, and they had a couple jags, gar, and RTCs. There are a lot of fish at this mills mall.

Thought the big uarus were awesome though too. Really great aquarium if you are into cichlids or big freshwater fish.

Yeah apparently the guy made all the tanks himself. They were plywood with 3/4 inch plexiglass. He said about 2 grand a piece.

Poopsmart how about some pics? :popcorn:also your avatar is that your sev? I'd like to see some pics of him..........

I didn't take any pics of it, I wasn't even sure if it was the big one at first. It looked really awful, I just felt bad. It was barely moving at all. Plus you have to see it for yourself to see its size. It looked like it had a crooked spine, and it just looked really unhealthy. But that is all from the previous owner. He said that the previous owner had a restaurant with some fish in it and that was one of them along with a synodontis catfish that both had really crooked spines.

I wish the severum was mine, I have no idea whos severum this is, but its been all around the internet and Its my favorite severum ever. It sorta looks roktiel but sorta turquoise or green and gold. I started a thread on it a while back to try to find out what kind it was, but nobody knew.

Its sad to see a fish in such dire straits. The current owner doesnt seem to concerned with his not long for this earth comment. Why not get the fish out and try to get it healthy. If he can't then humanely put the fish out of his misery.

there are pics in another thread try huge jag in st louis or something like that

yeah he said it hadn't eaten in a month

A month.

I don't know how its going to turn around. That seems crazy.

Sounds like cruelty to animals -especially with it bein on public display. I mean if it were a dog, cat or a horse - that guy woulda been in jail already.

Fish can go pretty long without food. I starved my Marmorata for 21 days trying to get her off of live feeders. The B**ch still woud not eat anything else.
Chances are that the fish in questions is reaching its max age limit. It probably is to old to compete with the other fish for food, so it doesn't even try any more.
