Sounds like cruelty to animals -especially with it bein on public display. I mean if it were a dog, cat or a horse - that guy woulda been in jail already.

Umm, the fish is not eating, not like it's not being fed! Fish was rescued from a bar tank where who knows how it was treated. It, along with a large oscar, pacu and pbass were in pretty bad shape. Pbass didn't make it and the jag ate well at first and packed on some weight, he was quite active, even defending a group of fry that were not his. Now it appears it's just getting old.

yeah he was feeding it, it wasn't eating on its own. He wasn't starving it or anything.

But he did save it from a restaurant tank where he said it was probably 12-13 years old at that time.

He also told me that it took an entire batch of red devil fry away from the red devils and guarded it like it was its own (I think thats the fry that bigmscats was talking about)

It was in no way shape or form the guys fault though, the fish was just old and he was just letting it live out its life in a massive 4000 gallon tank. It just kinda sucked and I wanted it to rest in peace without the flash from my girlfriends camera going off in his face.

yeah it was astonishing that it was bigger than the ones in the Cabela's aquarium.

A chain hunting superstore couldn't afford to import as big of jags as one sole man who also built all the aquariums by hand. That is as amazing as the huge jag.

I love that place in the mills mall. great tanks and fish. That jag is huge the larges I have ever seen. The one other problem he may have is being able to fish out that jag to put it out of its misery. 4000g is pretty large and maybe difficult to get the fish out until it passes .
