HUGE Ray Update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys!!!

Had to throw up a couple pics of "Thickness". Still don't have the nerve to put him with rays, but I think it would work. Only FW tank in the house that's ray free.

He's gotta be every bit of 15" and is just a big ol puppy dog.

Love the Fahaka, Mine is appx 8" and had it since it was 1.5". Have waived back and forth about adding
him to my tank for some time also. But haven't had the courage. He has been with a small pleco for over a
year and have never seen even a nipped fin though.

3 left. Lost the lil runt. Don't seem to be doing too well. Growing very slow. Gonna move them into a larger tank and see if that helps. Had to move the Tor out as one snapped and started getting nippy with the puffers. They sustained a good deal of fin damage. Seem to be healing, just not quite as fast as I'd like. They seem to be a bit more finicky in the food dept then Fahaka are?

I've never owned fahaka only several mbu so I can't really compare but all of my mbu were great eaters unless something was bothering them. Tankmates can be tricky. I kept a large one with small mbuna and the little guys would bite his tail. He then would stop eating and become lethargic.

Thanks for the kind words guys.....

Marbles aren't gonna go anywhere in the near future. Took me years to find a couple nice ones and pricetags of some were comparative to BDs. I definetly agree though, just as nice as BDs, in my eyes maybe even nicer as there's so much color to them. Maybe after I get some pups from them to grow up I might consider parting with.

My Fahaka lives with a Pleco, has been for several years. He was also paired with a Dat problem free for well over a year but out of no where attempted to de-face the Dat. Literally. That 1 flaw on his record makes me second guess keeping rays in there, but then again Dats are Dats.

The MBU I'm sure were being pestered by the Tor. They're with a few Bala sharks now and seem to be doing better. They showed signs of perking up after the Tor were moved.

I love the light sand and dark rocks. Dumb question, do those rocks have a name? I know that sounds weird but those are exactly the kind of rocks I"m looking to use on my new tank.
