Test is finished. I had 36 comets confined in a 20 gallon...they decline quite quickly as they are food for my other fish. In the week I had them in the 20 with the Tire track eel, about half of them came up either one or both eyes missing. This last week that I had them without the tire track I had zero casualties. All comets kept their eyes. Just my experience.
 
Thanks for the mini-test.. hehe obviousely can't "take it to the bank" but I don't doubt my eel could have done it.. I"m actually more confident now since I put the goldfish back in ( no other place for it, all my other tanks would rip the goldfish up in a matter of minutes if not hours.) I've been feeding the eel every night and haven't had a problem. Next time we go away for the weekend I'll have to figure out what to do.
