Just wondering if anybody on here feeds people multi vitamins to there rays or sharks.
I keep getting very weak pups born from my breeders I use all the stuff meant for aquaria but it's super expensive and appears to be all same stuff. Could I not just add a small piece into a shrimp and feed like some of you use mazuri tabs ?

Is this safe ?

Not sure about the human vitimans. If you want something more cost efficient look into the mazuri gel. You can also make your own food and soak it in vita chem and selcon. Make your own rods predator food or Larry's fish frenzy.

Did you figure out how much money you will save by switching to human vitamins?

I'd power feed pups if they are weak. Depending on size, PE mysis or a good quality frozen krill.

Yes I do power feed them. I use mysis bloodworms blackworms.
I've lost a 4 month old pup this week. He was a bit premature at birth . This particular females pups come out with yolk sacs . Where as another I have of exact species bred by same male her pups come out with almost no yolksac ?
My thoughts are that she's not getting enough nutrients to her pups before giving birth to them.

Do you know if human multivitamins will be safe for rays. They are safe for humans and contain everything most of the aquarium supplements

yes I was using human vits as we can not get Mazuri in Aus so I was using human multi vitamins chopped up into 1/tenth there size and placed in the food, this was for the larger sharks over 3 years old

If anything, I wouldn't use a multi-vitamin, but break it down and use specific vits. For example, B12 ground into a powder and then soak the food in it will help keep the shark appetite up. I'd switch to something other than bloodworms/blackworms. Mysis, krill, mashed shrimp...things like that will be closer to the natural diet of most young sharks.
