If you pull humid air out of the room and push it outside... then you are also putting warm air outside in the winter which means your heat bill goes up...

Dehumidifiers do use a good bit of electricity, but I would expect the Dehumidifer electrical usage minus the heaters electrical usage would be about the same as the increase in the heat bill if you used a vent...

ill probaly add a dehumid, screw that cutting holes in my walls and putting in fans...
