di any of you guys notice that the lion got shot in the knee by the first hunter, but kept going for the other guy? seems like kind of a 'rogue' thing to do, no? it can hardly even put its foot on the ground, yet it continues to charge the guy. i can not believe that all of you are saying that you wih the hunter was dead rather than the lion. i am sure you eat meat, right? just because the animal is 'magnificent' doesn't give it any more right than a pig or a cow or a chicken to live.

I don't eat meat...

I don't wish either of them are dead. Save the rationale...its eye for an eye. You want to kill, then risk being killed.

p.s. the one with the elephant is a tiger, not a lion. lions don't have stripes.

Just like lions, pigs, cows we are "animals". There is very little that seperates us from other lifeforms. Sure we're more evolved but still require the same to live. Sometimes we seem to be the lowest intelligence animals. At least in situations like posted.
Honestly if that lion would have ate that guy I would have been :ROFL::ROFL:

As far as it being a park and needing to kill it because it killed a park ranger, there are other ways to go about solving that problem. In part not turning the wild into a "park". I'm sure people come to that park to see wild animals. Well wild animals are.. wild..

THE LION KILLED A PARK RANGER.
They were not hunting, they were putting it down, it went rogue so they could not risk it living and killing more.
I LOVE animals, and I adore lions, but the fact is, people were in danger. It had already killed.
Watched it on animal planet.

I think we are beyond this specific incident now...more or less the entire concept.

You said it yourself, "I have more respect for nature than mankind". That is exactly what Peta does.

I never meant to insult you, But I don't feel I was out of line with my comparison based on your previous post. I am glad to hear that Peta disgust you however. Now if only the rest of the sheeple were willing to see the hypocrisy that company is built upon, we'd be better off as a whole.
Anyone who thinks animals > people seriously needs to straighten out their priorities.[/quote]

Welcom to MFk RyanS, you will officially get an uber cool friend invite from me. This is a great site, though it is filled with people who would rather club a baby then a seal. :(

Dont let those people bother you. I am sure you are here because you have a passion/love for fish keeping, but like my self, you see that people do have supreme power and come before any other of God's great creatures.

Oh and dont let Mr Goth teenage angst from down under get to you and call you a noob. We all have hope he will grow up one day!

What else could be done about the lion.... ?
Put it in a zoo?

I'm saying this completely ignorantly, because not all of us here know the details behind what happened. But...lion kills human, surprised? I don't think so. Or should they be expected to cuddle up with them? I understand the protocol needed in these situations, to prevent further harm to people who will be near the animals. But still...isn't it expected that a deadly animal can kill a human, and will do so given the opportunity?

Lion's are a dangerous animal. I'm sure we could fence off our little park with 12ft fencing or just have park rangers be aware that lions are dangerous. When we create a park in a place like africa we make a choice. Do we want it safe? Or do we want to see the wild animals? It's hard to have it both ways. I get that park's are a money maker for tourists but if we have to start killing animals to make it safe to have our park maybe it was a bad idea.

If I take a job working on a bridge and fall off to my death I don't blame it on the bridge. And I don't have people avenge my death by blowing up said bridge. I chalk it up to being one of the hazards of that job and maybe a job that hazardous isn't for me.

You have every right to defend yourself against an animal, but hunting an animal after the fact that it harmed someone is really a bass ackwords way of fixing the problem. The lion doesn't know that eating humans is wrong. He doesn't have a code of ethics to follow. The lion ate you sorry for your luck. He apprarently won that fight. We should then relearn lions are dangerous and move on. Just because he took someone's life doesn't really give us a right to hunt him down and take his. (Because he's an animal, he doesn't have rules to follow)

As far as the video posted I think if you get that close to a lion and just stand there for whatever reason then you deserve to be eaten. You are then fair game.
