I'm planning on taking my 1977 GMC 3/4 ton PU and doing an EXTREME modification to it. I will be removing my 350 CC-V8 engine out and replacing it with a P-51 Mustang 12 cylinder Roll Royce Engine. Not sure of the displacement of the engine yet. I have a friend who is an engine block and engine head machinist looking into the possibilities of this for me. He said he'd get me one if I wanted it and that it would probably cost me a small fortune. He didn't stipulate how small of a fortune though.

The chassis, front suspension, shocks, body, and etc. are looking at some MAJOR changes and reinforcement as well, do to the 12 cylinder's size and additional weight. Not to forget to mention the cooling system (a new custom built radiator) and other additional goodies for the engine. It's somewhat of a scary thought as to what type and size of an exhaust header, exhaust pipe and muffler system I'll need for this, too. I wonder if I could get a custom built exhaust system special ordered through EVEN FLOW EXHAUST MFGR.'s. Maybe I could have CHOMPERS design one for me. He's the Einstein of the fish world, when it comes to calculating and designing things.

I'll mainly be using this for traveling Canada and the U.S. for going to different Dog Sled Racing Competitions. My dogs, sleds and trailer are all set and ready to go, just need to finish my tuck. I hope I get it completed before the Yukon Quest this coming season.

I can smell the seasons first snow coming this way, already. Isn't life grand?

Update, I just bought me a 1976 blue Chevette. It does has an oil leak and a hole in the muffller(glasspack). The rest are minor fixer uppers.

Sorry I know it's worthless without a pic... I'll try to do one tomorrow(They already pulled the ad off of craigslist).

you can also do the Pontiac Fieros with the 3800 series 2 supercharged blocks (grand prix GTP engine) and build that which is very common. Unless you want the 350, which works too....

I got a few shots off this morning.

The worst case of rust is in the front just above the bumper. The rest of the body has spots of surface(minor) rust.

Nice looks good, a little smoothing and some new paint but it looks pretty solid

Well.... months later after getting the Chevette... losing the title to the Mustang and having my truck stolen. I finally put the Mustang for sale earlier this week and sold it today

I'm going to miss it... but time to move on finally.

How much did you get for it (if you don't mind me asking)?

It always amazed my how stretched out they got from '70 into the '71 year.

im a ford guy to the core but the vette is certainly a better oddball build. now just throw in a small block ford in it and youll have a sweet oddball.

i love the dare to be different look, and practicality of it. i myself love trucks but no older trucks can accomodate a family. i got myself a 1954 f100 panel truck. best of both worlds, except the back seat passengers cant see out the sides.... my truck so i get the front seat, no prob for me.

my opinion that aint rust on that car... come to northwest ohio and ill show you rust..... on 08 chryslers.........
