the plain and simple fact is that every culture has different practices for feeding the populance. Wheather it be cow or cat, horse or human meat. Today we simply have the luxury of not having to see it prepared before it hits our plate if that is our wish.

Some people like to play a bigger part in feeding themselves then to grab a unidentified ground of meat from a cooler shelf. That is their choice and their right. You don't have to love it but you do have to live with that fact. It won't ever change.

Agreed, and the main participants in this discussion have had their say and wish to close out peacefully.

I refuse to believe that it is better to eat an animal that never knew what grass was than an animal from nature.... all you dirty hippies really want natural meat well go get it...

I called no one a "poo-poo head" nor did I mention any names. Just called him a brainless twit with shortcomings who doesn't know when to STFU and let a thread die. We called a ceasefire but some dickless wonder wants to jump in at the end and continue. You can't seem to make that determination either. You agree to a truce then want to side with anybody with a big mouth. Lets make up our minds, play nice or open fire.

I feel no need to go on, especially after this statement. I can accept, as I said before, that you think differently, but your method of going about this is just plain ridiculous.

Wow

Don't think thread need to be this heated; all have their opinions and all have their right to express them.

My two cents; hunting even big game animals when done right, actually benefited the animals being hunted. Hunters bring money to areas where wild game usually either viewed as pest/nuisance, in cases of lions and elephants or just meat. The money hunters bring benefit villagers with new jobs and opportunities, and also show the wild game to actually have value and need to be protected and preserved. It's part of the tourism industry that brings much needed cash to Africa and Asia.

In the USA, hunting is part of our heritage, and also benefited wild land as land is set aside for hunting, and money from permits, licenses, etc. are used for wild life and land preservation. All lose (hunters and animals) the most when it's real estate development that moves in, and clears out land for houses or mini-malls. In USA and North America, one reason why alot of animals are coming back from being extinct is due to hunting, or use of their meat and hide in other areas ie American bison, or the American Alligator.

Personally, had to choose option 4. Won't mind hunting the wild pigs around the mountains where I live; it's feral domesticated pigs, and they do a lot of damage to the land anyway.

hunting is fun, the reward is:

1. the thrill of the hunt.
2. eating it. :naughty:

1.5 Waking up a dawn and sitting in the cold..

Wow...

(CSX had a good response but cool to see you thinking so in depth)

Hunting is a dying hobby anyways. It will die out as we as humans are evolving to eat pre-prepped meat. I don't think what some people call "hunting" is true hunting or anything difficult enough to be proud of. I mean Ron White can get one at 55mph with the headlights on and the horn blowing. :D Bow and anything that involves less automated/range killing is more getting to real "hunting" IMO. I would like to see people hunt with just sticks or very very simple bow. Then I could give real props when someone tells me of a buck they killed.

I will say that we as humans all should realize how insignifigant we are to the world. We are simply creatures like every other living thing. And I guess my standpoint as to why I personally don't hunt as I see everything else that doesn't pose a threat to me(talking wild animals) as having a right to live another day. It would be selfish of me to track down something that has a decent thought complex and lives freely just because I don't like my meat in a box, I like guns, tradition or for some reason I like the thought of freezing ass in the dead of winter for hours waiting for the deer to find me. Lets hope species other than humans don't evolve and start picking up guns..

Ah, yes, the calling card of any man with no facts in his argument. I love freedom of speech, but if you read the quote, it had nothing to do with what we were talking about, had not facts, and was meant to be an extreme to paint us with a brush that we did not deserve. You can call that freedom of speech if you like, but there is certainly no need to "open up our mind" to name calling, and broad extremism.
