Hurry up and breed cons

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the female has an orange belly. the male doesn't

if they are both the same sex, then it's only possible in massachusetts :D

Convicts breed all the time. I don't think they need a specific water chemistry or temperature.

Convicts can breed in 2 gallon tanks. (not that you should be doing it) They can literally breed in a puddle if they can fit into it. They are the rabbits of the fishkeeping world.. a new spawn every 2 weeks or so.

:iagree:
To breed cons, just add water. Every 2 weeks like clockwork mine have eggs.

I would trade 1 of your cons in for another.

make sure 1 has a long flowing fin all the way past his tail fin and the other has a orangy pink tummy.... keep the temp at 78 add some driftwood and a little rocky area good water and watch them work

Can you put like 3 female cons and one males so they can breed faster or will that not work?

if you want them to have a convict deathmatch ..... keep only 1 male and a female together even in a humongous tank ive seen bad things happen with convict numbers.. let it happen its almost impossible to find 2 convicts of opposite sex not breed in good conditions

If you're having trouble breeding convicts then you've probably got two of the same sex.
Even then, I've had two female convicts lay eggs in a 10 gallon.

Cons can breed in a cup of coffee.
