I was hurt on the clock on Monday around 1pm. It was investigated n they found it was 100% not my fault. I had to go into emergency surgery to reconstruct my Tendons in my left index and middle finger as I lost feeling and could not control/move them.

I had about 1.5hrs left on the clock to complete my 9hrs (everyday min work schedule) and went straight to the Corp. clinic where they could do nothing for me n moved me to a hand specialist where I got out of surgery at 7:30pm.

Here goes my Q...

With that being said, how do they pay me? up to my 9hrs or till the time I left the surgery at 7:30pm (accident happened around 1pm and my 9hrs was at 2:30pm). I am not salary, I am hourly

(oh yeah, im located in California)

Any place I could call n find out if no one has an idea?

Thanks

Try the California Department of labor web site. Thats just a guess, but where I would start.

i have no idea but bump for you bro. GL with all that. maybe somebody here knows the HR laws in cali

I wish you well on your recovery. I would think you would contact your HR rep or if you belong to a union, contact your rep there. Every company is different so the question is difficult to answer.

Eric, sorry to hear about your accident. I'm familiar with an incident similar to yours where 5 or 6 police officers went to the hospital after entering a burning house to rescue a elderly woman. All of the officers went to the hospital for smoke inhalation and the department refused to pay them for the time they were at the hospital being treated. They had to lawyer up for principle and eventually won the nominal amount/compensation. So.... it's gonna probably be a fight for you to recoup the couple of hours, gotta ask yourself if it's worth the frustration or just be thankful you're doing better and your medical bills were/are covered.

Thanks guys... they are paying me till I left the recovery room and went home :)

5am to 730 pm

Good to hear they covered you, Big Dogg! Wish you a speedy recovery, "Kobe!" :D

now that the timeclock is set... hows the ol nose picker doin?

Wow...hope your recovery goes well. Being in a supervision position before, they're suppose to pay for your time at the hospital as well, but it looks like you already found that out.
