There are fish trying to eat the fry but the parents are chasing them off constantly.

I will eventually have to break up this little party.

Well there are at least 7 fry remaining, and some of them are getting quite large.

The Red Jewel is Jingles, and he is over 4" now. Some of the fry are nearing 2"

Johanni cichlids are one of my favorites. I love their shape and color! You’ve got a great looking one

My information is it that it's a mutt/hybrid, because with that coloration it should be a male.

The person who gave me that fish told me it was a male, but they had no idea. I didn't either until I saw the breeding, and then the fry.

The hybrid fry are growing quite fast and they are over 100 days old now.
