Just picked up a baby (3") Teugelsi the other day. I noticed today that there's a freaking hydra connected to his stomach.

Anyone ever seen this before? Is it cause for concern?

Sure it’s a hydra and not bichir morms. Post some pics.

Super hard to get a good pic. Seems like bichir worms are most common on WC and not CB?

Sure looks exactly like a hydra too...

You’re right about usually seen on wild caught. If it’s a true hydra then catch the poly and pull
It off. It’ll be fixed after that.

OK now the other baby ansorgii in with the Teugelsi has what looks like brown fuzz on his underside.

WTF is going on??

I don't think hydra can attach to living things. I've had them on DW and they are harmless.

Need pics. Possible fluke worm.

What are your parameters ?

Nitrates are 5, everything else is zero. I have some Prazipro coming tomorrow so hopefully that helps with my ansorgii.

He's so small that it's really hard to get a good picture. The brown fuzzy stuff doesn't appear to move when I look really close. And I cannot find a good picture or visual description of bichir worms online so it's hard to say?

Frigging A

Looks like my teug has this stuff appearing now. Tank is only days old, with an aquaclear and sponge filter from existing tanks with no issues. These polys must've come in with this as I picked them up 2 days after the LFS received them.
