Hydra connected to poly

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Best pictures I could get. It's the pockets of brown fuzzy stuff attached to his underside I'm concerned about. No more sign of what I thought was a hydra attached to my teug, so good sign there...

Looks like some damaged fins. Is that the other side of the external gills? Can u get a pic of the head straight on?

I'm talking about the stuff to the left of his external gill and what you can see on his belly in the reflection.

Side note - he was labeled as a "guinean" bichir. I assumed it's an ansorgii x endli CB, but now I'm thinking he also looks like my bigger koliba. Can you guys tell from the pics I attached?

Hard to tell what it is even in those photos. I would suggest if able to net it and pull it off. Doesn’t look like bichir worms or a parasite.

Koliba laps are pretty common nowadays. Full length shot will help.

Looks like ansorgii to me judging by the pattern, but take a fill picture for better idying.

Follow what kno4te kno4te suggested, try to net the fish and pull out the brown thing under the belly.

Doesn't look like koliba agree with polyaddict but get a full tank pic

I can't see anything in the pics but doc kno4te is on the case so your good

Thanks guys. I'm anxious to pull him out and take that stuff off. It's in several places and I don't want to stress him out too much

Even though you don't think it's a Parasite, is it still OK to treat it and the teug with Prazipro as good measure?

I'll get a better picture of him for a better ID.
