I've been looking into Hydro Gardening- I've googled a bunch of ideas, and I was wondering if any MFKers have actually tried their hands in this?

I'm talking gardening... like vegetables- not keeping plants in your fish filter.

I have an idea of something with my indoor koi tank, so that when I blow the filter all the fish poo can run into the system with the plants for added nutrients.

Ideas, comments?

i know there is a few threads in the setup and filter area. Im looking more into this myself, ill post the threads when i findem again

plants love the bad waste from fish, shouldnt have any trouble growing "veggies".

While this is interesting, this is not what I am getting at... these links are for people using them to filter their tanks.

I am not going to be filtering my tanks with this idea.

This is basically aquaponics.

No, aquaponics is a full loop system. Where the water from the tank goes to the plants- the plant filters the water- and it goes back into the tank.

This is NOT what I am trying to get at.

I am simply trying to garden with used fish tank water, but on a more modern set up.

The water that goes from my tank to my plants will NOT be going back into my tanks.
