I was just going to mention a simple idea ... I know someone on here siphons water into a large rubbermaid trashcan on wheels, and then uses a powerhead to water their plants. 100% simple solution, but probably not enough.

My fish tanks are in my basement- we siphon the water from the tanks into the sump.. the sump them pumps it up a piece of pvc, and it flows out in the back yard along the house- So, I want going to attach my planters (pvc, or gutters) directly to the sump pvc piece that comes out of the side of the house.
So that's why it wouldn't be going back into my fish tanks if I did it outside.
If I did it inside with my koi tank idea, to pump it back into the tank, I would need to pump the water up 5 feet.
Here's how I am going to be setting my plants up, but then one end is where the sump piece will connect.
Don't know much about hydroponics but heard an ad on the radio this morning for this company: http://www.urbangardencenter.net/index.html.
In the summer, I water our garden with tank water.
