hydrogen peroxide in aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it can be use with the amount just right, if use too much it can kill the fish! If you use H2O2 too much it can eat through your skin and the same thing could happen to fish!

Seeing the youtube vid makes me almost want to test it out on some rocks i have in my tank... although naturally i would remove the rocks, put it into a bucket and then do it...

But my question would be... would i have to worry about any of the peroxide getting back into the tank when i place the back in or would it be diluted enough i wouldn't have to worry... since its a 200G tank...

I bet the guy on youtube is someone from craigslist... -_-''

Lol no fish in that video as well... it seems like he just used an aqua lifter and used a very small amount from a pre measured source. I also am curious

What happened to his fish when he did it. Does it look like from what you saw that this person seem to have a nice set up. if so then he has probably done this before and know that it is safe.

Okay i watched the video and it does not show any fish. So i think his point is that it does eliminate algae. I don't think whether it is safe with fish in the tank was an issue for him or concern for him.

i have used it to clean up spear pull from palms after a hard winter it dissovles all the mushy rot and cleans up the inside crown for new growth!

so its not harmfull to healthy plant growth just the mushy stuff but it comes watered down in diffrent percentage .i dont think i would put it in a tank tho..

i'm sure it's safe for fish in small amounts, they use it to clean up algae in ponds and lakes. i've heard of people using it in tanks too to kill black beard algae, they squirt it with a turkey baster instead of just dumping it in.
