yes, but I am saying if you can see the pictures.. There is a very noticable difference between the fish, hopefully you can because I spent alot of time on this....

The fish pictured looks like adults Rhaphiodon vulpinus. Except for the biggest one pictured. That's Armatus. The tail is partially red because of the blood.

Let me get in my freezer and dig out a 16" that arrived DOA. I'll thaw him out and let him lay on the side. Let's see if the blood turns it's tail red.

BTW - I'm going to need you to send me a bigger picture of your avatar.

I was thinking that at fisrt, but I doubt that the blood lined up perfectly among all these fish.. Also look at the gill plate markings and jaw shape and angle...

Like I said before these are just my opinions..

as for the picture...Pm me, and also about that 16" fish you have in the freezer:naughty:

and are you and me the only ones that can see pictures?:nilly::nilly:

good theory, but if you're right, you are gonna tick a lot of people off LOL

You know Hydrolycus is characin member of the Neotropical fishes in subfamily Cynodontinae that has many cousins (Rhaphiodon vulpinus for example) so those picture you show may be one of Hydrolycus cousins

yeah, Thats what i first thought.. That the first pictured is actually Rhaphiodon over armatus, but then i looked at head shape, tail shape and tail color..and other things and it just poped in my head as armatus..or tattuaia.

Again this is opinion..:D
