hydrometer?

what kind of hydrometer do you use/like for brackish range tanks. I have a plastic swing arm thing but I dont trust it.

suggestions welcome :grinyes:
 
I don't know why those swingarm models are still sold. I've seen too many posts concerning those things sticking and/or inaccurately reading. I use a simple glass floating hydrometer/thermometer and have never had any problems with it. Plus, they cost a fraction of what those swingarm models run.

refractometer's are def the best way to go - hydrometers are notorious for giving poor readings - even with the thermometer style ones unless you have an area in your tank or sump were there is no agitation or water movement, it is impossible to get a good read - ive found em impossible to read since my reef tank has so much water movement
