Hyperventilating Stingray, ongoing problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ya. missed the whole several months between water changes line up there. I'm impressed those fish aren't dead, captive bred or not. I hope that ray was cheap because if you keep doing that kind of irregular maintenance none of those fish are going to make it.

Thanks everyone lesson learnt for sure. Will be more up to date with water changes in the future. For now it's daily water change till the nitrites go down

Just an update, Ray looking better, started eating a little. kH 5o now, NO3 at 25mg/L. Will be doing another water change and hopefully she'll make a full recovery. Thank you everyone!

Maybe you should look into a 3 stage water filtration unit for constant drip? It works wonders for me :) zero water changes!

Thank Medhibsi, don't know much about that at the moment, will look into it...but will be sticking to water changes for the foreseable future for now! A little traumatized and wife's patience is finite....

Glad to say I think the worst is behind me. Ray is ravenous, so i'm feeding limited amounts since NO3 is holding steady between 25 to 50mg/L. Discuses started spawning....hope its a good sign!

Once again thanks for everyone's advice and help!
