hypothetical question[making hybrids]...

so lets say you have a convict BP pair in a tank and theyre spawning regulary. if you threw in a male BP would the female BP leave the male con for the new BP because theyre similar? id like to make some jellybean parrots in an extra tank i have but if i throw in a male BP will it mess up the whole project?
any replies are kinly appreciated.

yes it will probably mess up the balance. fish will first seek out their own kind. she will more then liky next spawn with the male bp.

may i ask why you want a male bp?

i dont exactly want one, i just have one that im not sure the sex of and like the way he looks but have no other tanks for him. but thanks for the reply.

well just letting you know that male bp's are about 96% sterile.

should have been convict/BP...he is just trying to say he has a convict paired with a BP
