Gourgous fish and tank, not a big fan of angels but they look good in there. Great set up and congrats on those fry.

There have been several batches of fry from these two since the last post. I am not set up to raise them, so they are feeding the other fish in the tank. They are pretty big by the time the others get them, and the angels especially look fantastic afterward. I know this is kind of sick, but it is the cycle of life in my tank.
No updated pics, and sad news, the male killed the female two days ago. She was heavy with eggs when she died as well. Was a sad loss but all is well in the tank again.

I've got a similar story in that I seen a Chocolate at the LFS that had come in from a breeder. I wasn't happy to see it was $50 and left unhappy. I spent two weeks thinking about the fish and finally broke down and got him/her. I could not be more happy with the fish, I would spend twice what I did for a fish with the personality of my Chocolate. He gets along with my 6" pleco and I just put in a 2" Botia Striata that he seems mildly interested in, not enough to chase him tho.
Definitely one of the most under-rated SA/CA cichlids out there, likely because of their lack of aggression. I can't see another reason for not having one, they're beautiful and they're monsters. Here's mine (excuse the crap photography)-

nice fish mate, does the female have more rounded fins im trying to sex my choco my guess is its a male?
