My Silver Dollar Sp's

My only experience with pacu is that they are too bony to make it worth the effort to clean and cook them.

The parrot pacu, and the Sheepshead pacu are very rarely seen in the hobby, and rather infrequently in institutional displays. Very rarely available from importers, in short quantities and high prices.
So, not easy to obtain any time soon.

Your third picture shows a humongous male characin, a monster of a fish. Again, not seen in the hobby, and not often kept well.

Your 4th picture, labeled 'Metynnis argenteus', is neither argenteus, nor in the genus Metynnis. It is instead a young female Myloplus rubripinnis, a 'red-hook'.

The internet is very useful but it is also very dangerous. One needs to be wary and judicious.
Silver dollars and larger dollars (Serrasalmidae) are supercool fish. They live long lives. Decades.

Oh okay google labeled the silver dollar as Metynnis argenteus also i didnt know that the other were so rare

Supposedly red belled pacus taste delicious

I've never heard of a sheepsheaded pacu,I have only seen that species referred to as sheep pacu.

It may be a mistake on my end if so do you know more about the sheep pacu ???

I can confirm that the sheepshead pacu is rare. I looked for it for months but only found 1 person who was selling them which I couldn’t get due to shipping reasons. I still want them but am waiting so I can set up a species tank in order to try my hand at breeding them.
