I was in a chinese restaurant near my house, when I saw they had a beautiful green asian arowana all cramped up in a 125 gallon tank. This fish was probably several years old, and at least 2.5 ft (probably close to 3). It was visibly having trouble turning around in this small tank. There was small part of me that wanted to go back with a shotgun and pull a delta force style hostage rescue on this fish. It was sad to see such a beautiful fish so poorly kept. I don't understand why they wouldn't invest a little more money to buy a bigger tank for this rare, expensive, adult fish. I can never go back into this place and look at that fish. This is too bad, because they make a pretty good shrimp lo mein.:irked:

I'm down for some delta force action. Lets break this aro out!

Did you ask them about the fish at all? Maybe it needs a new home:naughty: .

There is a chinese buffet in OKC that has, in a 135, and I kid you not, six pacus, the smallest of which is 14 inches (the largest freaking huge at about 24"), a 24" silver aro, an 18" silver aro, A 10" oscar, two medium common plecos, and...wait, there's more, at least a half dozen foot-long COMET GOLDFISH!!! We go with relatives every few months and all the same fish seem to be in there. it's a wonder they survive, because I've never seen such a huge can of sardines in my life.

Why is it that it seems a lot of restaurants have these illegal fish (particularly asian aros). Just always seems to be restaurants. And on public display lol

I think theirs a few ways to get around that. I know a Tackle place which has legal owned a LMB for a few years and has had Fish n game in his store. So i think u can get paper work or something.

That's true, all the Bass Pro and Cabela's around Kansas and OK at least have all types of native fauna. Even spoonbills, and those would have to be illegal, I would think.

That would be hilarious...on the news the next day...

Fish robbery at Chinese Restaurant....
"...a group of armed men carrying water pistols recently charged a Chinese food restaurant yesterday and ordered all the employees into the kitchen. Officials say they were ordered to stay put. After 10 minutes, they noticed the robbers were gone. Police spokesperson say no money was taken from the register, as well as no damages incurred. Although there is evidence that they stole the live fish in the aquarium display. There was a trail of water leading from the aquarium out door....and an empty tank."
