I did a waterchange on this Saturday and didn't realized I forgot to plug back the filter. I went to check and the water temp was 55F. Surprisingly, all the bichirs were alive but not eating. That would've been $100+ lost right there.

What you smoking on FnC?
Glad you got to them before it was to late :)

Wow....55 degrees? I'm glad they lived.

That could happen to any of us. I have to go check my cords now...

Rofl trying to create frozen fish I see.

haha...I deserved whatever you said. I was in a hurry to finish the job and go out for lunch. I left it at 55F for a good 3-4 days. The only reason I caught it was that I was going to move the fish from the growout to the big boy tank.

I am so glad I put in insulation in the re-model. I dont even need a heater. but I still use one to keep the water +80*.

Dam, 55* is pretty darn cold. I didnt think about it till now

Wait the filter was off for four days  Did you get an ammonia spike ?
Id highly suggest cleaning the media up before firing her back up. Sure you know all this.

:headbang2 for bichirs. Mine survived 2-3 days at 89-91 degrees due to a heater failure (stuck on) And I was really busy unfortunately and didn't notice immediately.

Glad they are well. Mistakes happen man
