SO... I know i said i was done with Fire Eels.... But i just love the look, so I am taking one more shot.... I went to the store where i got the last one and while speaking to the owner he asked me how it was doing .... I told him about his escape and how i lost the eel, well he had one more and gave me a sweet deal....

SO here is my new one... A little smaller then my last but still about 2 feet.. Also a pic of the interim eel proofing.. there will be something more permanent as i am having JRT build me a magnetic acrylic box to act as a prefiter to my drains... wish me luck.

No you are just determined and damn that eel looks good.

Very cute congrats on your new baby

Jay, get some tubes for hiding. They have to feel safe or they will escape. I had problems with mine going into my filter. Put in two PVC tubes, and have not had a problem since. Good luck with this one.

I really want to avoid PVC in this tank, but I have added the new piece of wood and this one seems to have found a spot in there he likes.

Thanks for the info.

Nice pick up, I hope this one works out for you.

I have a TT eel and he got out a couple times from his previous homes, then someone gave me a hollow fake rock ornament that is about 10" x10" x 3". He moved straight into there and never tried to escape again. Now he lives in the rock with a jaguar cat and a Raphael cat
