Before we plan on doing something big, my parents have decided to get me a 3 or 3 and a half feet tank temperorily in my room for my 12 inches Florida Gar, almost 12 inches Polypterus Ornatipinnis and a 5 inches Climbing Perch.

Isn't that an extremely small tank for them? Does this news piss you off? Make you feel like I am an ass that don't deserve to house them?:( Isn't this abusive? But my fishes are a very happy fish, they interract with me, eat actively and are very healthy and beautiful...only that the space pisses me off.

This will be a temperory tank before we can find a nice spot in the house to get a huge tank or even in a new house.

I feel like an ass...

Put the perch and birchir in one and the gar and the other! Then you can party with them and there new house!

well said:popcorn:

if it makes you feel any better I once had to keep an 8" FH in a 29 gallon for like 3-4 months and she forgave me...but then again our freinds across the pacific have been known to keep them in smaller than that for life (20g long):nilly:

Be happy your parents gave you anything. They are watching to see what and how responsible you will be before a major investment. Instead of being pissed off be like your Fish LOVING

Be thankful your parents will buy you a tank. My parents were "old school", raised in the 1920's. They wanted to teach me the value of money, so I had to raise money any way I could to get stuff I wanted. Most of my early tanks were old, used tanks given to me by people.
Yes, give the gar his own tank. Enjoy! :D

It's not that I am not thankful for what my parents are giving me. It's just that I was speaking on the subject of space alone. Besides I thought about what would the MFKers that are very concerned with space tell me?

But it seems fine...:D I'm ok. Besides I can use this 3 feet tank for something else when the big tank is ready. I would have baught it myself, but I am broke at the moment busy with college stuff so they're helping me.

Thank you for the replies.:)

Don't be too hard on yourself, brother. Your intentions are clean. :)
The MFK space guys are indeed concerned about fishes in small tanks, but they're not here to pressure us. Their views are suggestions. You can upgrade when you are able.

and i suggest you do it NOW!:) KIDDING.
